Deirdre and Justin’s wedding day, from start to finish, took place in what might be the single most iconic place in the world for me, South Philly. Having grown up in the Northeast, in the Mayfair/Oxford Circle area, then having moved to South Philly proper in my adult years, the setting for this wedding day couldn’t have been more of a homecoming. We got ready in a two story rowhome right off of 17th and Washington, and it was situated on one of those tiny South Philadelphia side streets, the ones where you have to jump the curb with your tire while in reverse to parrallel park (Philly folks know what I’m talking about). The first look, ceremony and reception was at FDR Park, just short of the stadiums, right off Broad & Pattison. There’s nothing like knowing where on the block you can park illegally for an hour because you’ve lived there before. Aside from the awesome setting, these two, Deidre and Justin, might just have been the nicest people in the world. You may have heard me say this before about other couples. Maybe I just get lucky with amazing clients. But from their engagement session to the wedding day, these two were, in my mind, literally the nicest people in the world and it was an honor to capture their big day.
